Ah, Christmas morning. The twinkle in my child's eye as they unwrapped the gleaming electric bike they absolutely could not live without. The enthusiastic first ride, a blur of joyous whooshing around the cul-de-sac. It was the stuff parenting Pinterest boards are made of.Fast forward to mid-April, and this magnificent two-wheeled chariot has achieved a level of stillness usually reserved for ancient artifacts in a museum. Apparently, the siren song of effortless cruising has been drowned out by the more compelling melodies of… well, I'm not entirely sure what. Possibly the intricate social dynamics of pixelated block-building or the captivating narrative arc of a particularly engaging YouTube unboxing video.This isn't to say the bike itself is anything short of fantastic. It's zippy, stylish, and undoubtedly makes even the most mundane trips feel like a mini Tour de France (or at least a slightly less strenuous jaunt to the mailbox). The battery life is impressive, though I wouldn't know firsthand how long it lasts on a single charge, as its odometer reading is still suspiciously low.It's a testament to the human (or rather, pre-teen) spirit, I suppose. The fervent desire, the impassioned pleas, the unwavering conviction that this electric bike was the missing piece to their happiness puzzle. And then… poof. Like a magician's rabbit, that burning need vanished, leaving behind a perfectly good, slightly neglected piece of outdoor equipment.So, if you're looking for a high-quality electric bike that will likely spend more time looking impressive in your garage than actually being ridden, then look no further! It's a fantastic piece of engineering, a shining beacon of potential outdoor adventure… that my kid has apparently decided to admire from afar. Five stars for the bike, zero for my child's follow-through. Perhaps next year, I'll just get him socks. At least those get used. Eventually.

This Hiboy e-bike has been a great purchase. The seat is surprisingly more comfortable than another e-bike I own that cost twice as much. I love the eco mode for beginners and S mode easily hit 20 mph on a short ride. It’s now my go-to loaner for friends and family who want to ride with me. While the handlebars aren’t height adjustable, only the seat is, my 4’8” tall son can handle it comfortably without extra effort. The fold-down handlebars are a plus for storage, and it’s small enough for teens, big enough for adults. Great build, smooth ride, and perfect for first-time riders!

UPDATE: I finally have a replacement bicycle and it arrived in good working order. The bike is fun to ride and goes really fast. The seat is a little firm for me, but I can add a cover. Even though there were issues with the first bike delivered, the seller was VERY responsive. I never felt ghosted. They are paying for the return of the original bike. So all is well.ORIGINAL:This purchase has been a nightmare. I received my bicycle on November 18, 2025. The display panel, needed to operate it was broken. I contacted the company. They responded quickly, apologizing, said the display panels were on back order, but they would send one to me as soon as the shipment arrives. They sent me a free bike bag, which arrived quickly. I inquired a few days later about the status of the display panel and again they assured me that they would FedEx it as soon as they had them back in stock. Several days later they let me know that the display panels were in and they would FedEx it to me. They provided the tracking number. For seven days the display panel sat in California. When I finally contacted FedEx, they reported that the package was damaged. I took a screenshot of that and let them know. I’m beyond frustrated. They apologized again and asked for patience and offered to send me another bike bag. At this point I just requested that they send me a new bicycle which they agreed to, confirming that I would not have to pay for the return of the old bicycle. The new bike was supposed to arrive yesterday DECEMBER 19, and entire month after I received the first bicycle but it was a no show. FedEx doesn’t have any info. I’ve now paid for a bicycle I haven’t been able to use, after having it for a month with no answers. I couldn’t tell you if this bike is good or not. They have now asked that I wait until December 23. I’ll be working through Amazon now to straighten this out. Don’t skimp on shipping containers. Damaged merchandise ends up costing everyone.
